The skies over America might be noticeably darker over this Independence Day holiday weekend, as President Joe Biden’s historic inflation didn’t spare the fireworks industry.
Buying fireworks or going to a fireworks show — typically one of the most exciting times of the year for both children and the inner child of their parents — will undoubtedly be different this year, according to Breitbart.
The depressing news comes as the price of food and drinks for a Fourth of July party have also increased — not to mention the price of fuel to travel to holiday get-togethers.
This all comes as Americans wait to hear whether or not the U.S. economy has officially entered a recession, which some top economists believe has already happened.
The numbers
According to a bombshell report from the American Pyrotechnics Association (APA), the cost of fireworks under Biden has increased an astonishing 35%.
Breitbart added: “The report attributed the cost increase throughout the country to the rising costs of raw materials, shipping, and transportation, and the insurance and labor it takes to make the fireworks.”
Along with the higher prices of the actual fireworks, retailers and small business owners that sell the fireworks and related accessories are also dealing with being forced to pay higher wages in the $15 to $18 range, compared to just a few years ago when the range was $12 to $15.
Additionally, the price of the raw goods to produce the fireworks, along with the logistics — including palleting, shipping, trucking, etc. — has also increased some 20%.
“Two years ago when you were like buying like a full container of fireworks … it was like $7,000 for shipping on a full container of fireworks. This year. It’s up to like between 30 and 40,000 depending,” a distributor told a local Idaho news affiliate.
No bragging this year
Last year, the Biden administration was brutally mocked around this time of year as it had the audacity to brag that the prices for a Fourth of July meal were down 16 cents.
Last year, Joe Biden defended already rising inflation by boasting that Americans were saving 16 cents on their 4th of July cookouts.
This year, Americans will pay 17% more – certainly not something to boast about.

One wonders how much longer Americans will tolerate the current state of the nation, as it continues to worsen, dramatically, by the day.
