Andrew Cuomo’s daughter is standing by her father in the sex scandal that led to his dramatic fall from grace.
According to the Washington Examiner, Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo, 24, recently shared an article by independent journalist Michael Tracey dismissing the former New York governor’s treatment by the media and New York Attorney General Letitia James as a “manufactured #MeToo-style PR offensive.”
“Finally. Please read,” Kennedy-Cuomo, who is the disgraced Democrat’s youngest daughter, tweeted.

“Conflict of interest”
In an article titled, “Unprecedented Abuse Of Power: What The Media Still Isn’t Telling You About The Cuomo Debacle,” Tracey argues that Letitia James has a “conflict of interest,” given her desire for Cuomo’s former job.
The writer decried the media coverage that precipitated Cuomo’s ouster in August as a “putsch” led by the Democratic Party’s progressive wing and a cynical press that ignored important facts.
He also claimed that Cuomo “almost certainly would never have been defeated in a New York Democratic gubernatorial primary” before “curiously choreographed” accusations began surfacing against him. One claim came from a woman who admitted to making a false sexual assault claim in the past to get a fellow college student expelled, Tracey noted.
Tracey also questioned the timing of a sexual assault charge against Cuomo, which was publicized within days of James announcing her bid for governor in late October.
Cuomo’s arraignment has been delayed over “exculpatory” evidence in the “potentially defective” criminal complaint, which was filed “unilaterally” by the county sheriff, the district attorney said, according to the Albany Times Union. Cuomo is accused of groping a woman at the governors’ mansion in Albany last year.
The governor has maintained his innocence, calling the charges baseless and “the worst combination of politics, incompetence and abuse of the law,” as the New York Post reports. He shared a Wall Street Journal editorial saying that the case “raises questions about political motivations in the justice system that can’t be ignored.”
Tracey has been a notable critic of how Cuomo was treated, arguing he did not receive due process, although the journalist says he is no Cuomo fan.
For her part, Cuomo’s daughter seems to be rethinking her views on due process. In 2019, she authored an article arguing that sexual assault probes on college campuses, where the presumption of innocence for the accused is notoriously absent, serve to “silence” victims.
