For years, conservatives have pointed to President Joe Biden’s age and apparent mental decline as evidence that he is not fit to serve in the White House.
Yet as Breitbart pointed out in an article this week, it seems that even some members of his own party are beginning to agree.
Democrats are growing nervous
As evidence, it pointed to a piece published on Wednesday by The Hill reporters Amie Parnes and Hanna Trudo addressing the discomfort many Democrats are feeling over Biden’s condition.
“President Biden can’t escape questions about his age, a fact of life that’s causing uneasy Democrats to assess whether he can realistically run for reelection in 2024, when he will be 81 years old,” they wrote.
“Conversations that were once whispered in private are spilling out into the public amid angst over a potential drubbing for the party in this fall’s midterm elections and existential questions about its future two years later,” the pair added.
The pair quoted one Democratic strategist who spoke on the condition of anonymity as saying, “Look, it’s a problem. He’s f–king old and everyone knows it, but no one wants to talk about it for fear of offending him or anyone around him.”
Politico contributor Elena Schneider pointed to a similar phenomenon, writing, “Let it be said: President Joe Biden has made clear he plans to run again.”
“But the 2024 parlor game has intensified anyway, as Democrats privately raise concerns about his age (soon to be 80), his poll numbers (hovering around half that) and the prospect of a midterm rout in November.”
Poll finds that 53% of voters doubt Biden’s mental abilities
Meanwhile, former Obama administration advisor Van Jones admitted during an interview with CNN host Erin Burnett that many Democrats feel the president “should let us know” if he isn’t up for the job of running again.

However, it isn’t just Democrats who are expressing concern about what kind of shape the president is in, as an April poll suggests that most voters are worried as well.
Conducted by Harris, it found that 53% of voters had doubts about Biden’s mental ability while another 60% said he is too old to be president.
