Alan Dershowitz says Obama directed FBI to ‘investigate somebody’ at George Soros’ request

Esteemed lawyer and academic Alan Dershowitz revealed in an interview with Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM radio that he possesses evidence showing that former President Barack Obama compelled the FBI to open an investigation into a particular individual at the specific urging of leftist billionaire financier George Soros.

The renowned legal scholar declined to provide any further details or the identity of the person targeted on behalf of Soros, but he did promise that all would eventually be revealed in litigation at some point in the future.

Cryptic revelation

At one point in the conversation, Dershowitz noted that it was not uncommon for prior White House administrations to exert a level of control over the Justice Department — something President Donald Trump has been accused of doing by his detractors as if it were completely unprecedented.

“I have some information as well about the Obama administration which will be exposed in a lawsuit at some point but I’m not prepared to disclose it now,” Dershowitz said, ” about how Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros, who was a close ally of his.”

“We’ve seen this kind of White House influence on the Justice Department virtually in every Justice Department,” he continued. “The difference is, this president is much more overt about it, he tweets about it. President Obama whispered to the Justice Department about it.”

A moment later Dershowitz added, “And let’s be very clear about the constitutionality — presidents could make a decision to really control the Justice Department. He could who to prosecute and who not to prosecute. He shouldn’t do it. It hasn’t been done since Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson did do it. We’ve seen this throughout our history.”

Potentially explosive evidence

The host of the radio program, Joel Pollack, seemed taken aback by what Dershowitz seemingly mentioned so casually about Obama and Soros that he had to double-back and ask the attorney to repeat himself for clarification.

“You said that George Soros asked Obama to have his Justice Department investigate somebody?” Pollack asked. Dershowitz replied, “That’s gonna come out in a lawsuit in the near future, yeah.”

“That is not unusual,” he continued. “People whisper to presidents all of the time. Presidents whisper to the Justice Department all of the time. It’s very common. It’s wrong, whoever does it, but it’s common and we shouldn’t think it’s unique to any particular president.”

“I have in my possession the actual 302 [FBI witness report] form which documents this issue and it will, at the right time, come out, but I’m not free to disclose it now because it’s a case that’s not yet been filed,” Dershowitz added.

This appears to be a significant and indeed startling revelation from Dershowitz, particularly if it is ultimately established that Obama willingly did Soros’ bidding while president.

Unfortunately, until more details emerge in the lawsuit to which Dershowitz alluded, and he produces the FBI 302 he claims to possess, there can only be speculation about who the target of the requested investigation may have been.
