DeSantis sues Biden to end airplane mask mandate

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is taking the Biden administration to court to end mask mandates on planes, buses, and trains once and for all.

DeSantis said it’s “well past time to get rid of this unnecessary mandate and get back to normal life,” Fox News reported.

DeSantis sues Biden over mask mandate on planes

Biden’s decision to keep enforcing federal mask mandates comes despite his attempts to take credit for a return to normalcy driven largely by the Democratic party’s dismal midterm polling data.

While many Democrats in cities and states around the country have relaxed restrictions, Biden has renewed mandates for public transportation until April 18 at least. DeSantis, who is leading 20 other states in the lawsuit, mocked the arbitrariness of the mandate.

“It’s not something grounded in any science,” DeSantis said. “If you have somebody sitting in the window seat, and they’re nibbling on peanuts for 2 ½ hours, they have their mask down.”

Florida’s attorney general, Ashley Moody, also hit Biden’s “shortsighted, heavy-handed and unlawful travel policies” for “frustrating travelers and causing chaos on public transportation.”

While Biden and his leftist allies have long demonized DeSantis for advocating freedom and choice over coercive mandates, public sentiment has been shifting in the Florida governor’s direction as Americans tire of two years of government overreach.

Biden’s twisted priorities

Even the airline industry — among the most compliant corporate enforcers of the COVIDian agenda — is calling for Biden to move on already.

“It makes no sense that people are still required to wear masks on airplanes, yet are allowed to congregate in crowded restaurants, schools and at sporting events without masks, despite none of these venues having the protective air filtration system that aircraft do,” a recent letter from major airline CEOs said.

Biden’s continued enforcement of federal mask mandates contrasts starkly with his decision to drop Title 42, a public health order enacted by President Trump to help control the southern border. If the pandemic has improved enough for migrants to pour across the border uninhibited, why are Americans still required to wear masks to travel around their own country?

In more evidence of Biden’s twisted priorities, he has railed against DeSantis for signing “hateful” legislation that forbids teachers from discussing sex with children in kindergarten through third grade. Democrats have disingenuously labeled the bill the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

“They don’t want to admit, they support a lot of the things that we’re providing protections against,” DeSantis said.
