Dick Morris, a longtime political operative, predicted on Sunday that the president’s 2024 reelection bid will be doomed by the classified documents scandal involving Vice President Biden and the upcoming House investigations into his son Hunter’s business dealings, according to The New York Post.
“That’s going to be the absolute end for Biden,” Morris, a former adviser to Democratic former President Bill Clinton, told John Catsimatidis on his WABC radio show, referring to the issues.
On “The Cats Roundtable,” Morris brought up the discovery of classified documents at the president’s Delaware residence from the time that first son Hunter Biden lived there.
Morris further asserted that some of the sensitive documents were obtained during Hunter Biden’s tenure as a director of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings. Critics have charged Hunter with abusing his position as Joe Biden’s son to further his own interests while serving on the board.
The Post revealed last week that two years prior to his resignation from the board of Burisma, in 2017, Hunter divorced his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle and listed the Wilmington residence as his address.
Based on details discovered on a laptop Hunter Biden left at a Delaware computer repair shop in 2019, The Post published a series of exposés in October 2020 on his troubling connections to Ukrainian and Chinese companies.
The classified papers were first discovered at the Penn Biden Center think tank in Washington, DC, on November 2, just days before the midterm elections on November 8, but the discovery wasn’t made public until early January. In December and earlier this month, more documents were uncovered at the president’s residence.
According to a recent survey of Democratic presidential candidates, President Biden, 80, only has 25% of the vote, which Morris described as “near death” for an incumbent.
“When Biden as president can’t get more than 25% of the primary vote in his own party, that’s near death. He’s so incredibly vulnerable,” Morris said.
In the poll, which was conducted in collaboration with pollster John McLaughlin, Hillary Clinton is ranked only 5%, while former First Lady Michelle Obama is ranked 16%.
“You’d think he’d be at 40% or 50% at the least,” Morris said of Biden. “That means pretty much anybody that breathes on him can knock him over.”
In the poll, which was conducted in collaboration with pollster John McLaughlin, Hillary Clinton is ranked only 5%, while former First Lady Michelle Obama is ranked 16%.
“It’s different. Trump took them like mementos, like an ashtray. A letter from Kim Jong-un that he could show people … [Biden’s situation] is directly linked to a big bribery scandal involving the vice president and his son. That’s a whole other situation,” Morris alleged.
On August 8, FBI agents conducted a raid at Trump’s Florida resort, seizing boxes of classified data. Since the Republicans have taken control of the House, numerous investigations have been conducted into Hunter Biden and the Biden family.
