DICK’S Sporting Goods will provide up to $4,000 for out-of-state abortions

The U.S. Supreme Court made history last week when it ruled that there is no constitutionally protected right to abortion. In response, DICK’S Sporting Goods announced it will give employees up to $4,000 for an out-of-state abortion.

Yet, as Breitbart noted, the question of whether it will also help those who don’t want to kill their unborn children appears to be a dark secret.

Money will cover travel costs

The new policy was announced on Friday morning via an email from executive chairman Ed Stack and CEO Lauren Hobart.

“Today, the Supreme Court announced a decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, removing the federal right to an abortion and leaving the decision up to each state,” the pair began.

“While we do not know what decision each state will make in response to this ruling, we at DICK’S Sporting Goods are prepared to ensure that all teammates have consistent and safe access to the benefits we provide, regardless of the state in which you live,” they continued.

The announcement

“In response to today’s ruling, we are announcing that if the state you live in restricts access to abortion, DICK’S Sporting Goods will provide up to $4,000 in travel expense reimbursement to travel to the nearest location where that care is legally available,” Stack and Hobart pledged.

“This benefit will be provided to any teammate, spouse or dependent enrolled in our medical plan, along with one support person,” the statement went on to promise.

Stack and Hobart then acknowledged how “people feel passionately about this topic — and that there are teammates and athletes who will not agree with this decision.”

What about pro-life?

“However, we also recognize that decisions involving health and families are deeply personal and made with thoughtful consideration,” they insisted.

“We are making this decision so our teammates can access the same health care options regardless of where they live, and choose what is best for them,” the corporate officers concluded.

However, Breitbart reported that DICK’S provided no answer when asked if it is willing to put up $4,000 worth of assistance to women who prefer to keep their babies. What’s more, DICK’S is not alone in promoting abortion, as Comcast, Netflix, Paramount, and Warner Bros. Discovery have made similar pledges.
