The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump, Jr., is remarkably similar to his father in that he is unafraid to voice his opinions — and he’ll take the fight directly to his political adversaries.
In that vein, Don Jr. just announced plans to release a self-published book in late August that is aimed squarely at attacking presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, the Washington Examiner reported. The release date coincides with the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida.
The president’s son tweeted Saturday:
Thrilled to announce that during the last few months of quarantine, I’ve been working on a new book, LIBERAL PRIVILEGE!

“Love in a time of COVID”
In an exclusive interview with Axios about the book, Trump Jr. revealed that he has had the opportunity to complete the manuscript while in quarantine over the past week after his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, tested positive for the coronavirus. Guilfoyle, who works on Trump’s campaign team, has remained asymptomatic and said Wednesday that she has “been feeling really pretty good,” according to The Hill.
During his Axios interview, Trump Jr. said he spent his time in isolation at his cabin in the Catskills Mountains to focus on writing the book, though he took an occasional writing break to go fly-fishing, he said.
The president’s son also acknowledged that he’s had some help putting the book together over the past few months, including from Sergio Gor, who is currently the chief of staff of the Trump Victory Finance Committee, according to the Examiner. Gor was once a staffer for Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), and has lent a hand to several conservative authors in recent years, the Examiner noted.
Trump Jr. said he also got help from his significant other, the Examiner reported, and Guilfoyle has reportedly been tasked with providing the voice for the audio version of the book.
“That’s how we came up with the idea for her to do the audiobook,” Don Jr. explained to Axios, according to the Examiner. “We would take turns reading the chapters out loud for flow… Love in a time of COVID.”
Biden camp hits back
Trump Jr. said he intends to self-publish and self-promote his new book as a sort of “shot across the bow” against traditional publishing houses and the political establishment, Axios reported. Of course, Democrats and the Biden team are less than thrilled about the book — and weeks ahead of its release, they have already begun to lash out against it.
“Is there anything more on brand than Donald Trump, Jr. trying to cash in on a book filled with disgusting lies and smears about Joe Biden?” TJ Ducklo, Biden’s national press secretary, told Axios. “This is the latest in a series of desperate and pathetic attempts to distract from the president’s historic bungling of the coronavirus response.”
It will be interesting to see what all Trump Jr. decides to include in his book about Biden and “liberal privilege” — but if Biden is already fighting back, it makes you wonder what he’s trying to hide.
