Donald Trump teases 2024 White House run at Texas rally

Former President Donald Trump delighted the audience in Conroe, Texas when he said that with the help of his supporters, they would “take back the White House,” in a clear insinuation that he might be running for president once again.

The former president made his comments at his second “Save America” rally of 2022, according to the Washington Examiner.

Not official

Trump did not officially announce that he is running for president in 2024, but his other comments and the generally defiant tone toward Democrats have sparked considerable speculation amongst his supporters and detractors alike.

The former president said that his supporters should “get ready to work,” and “get ready to win like never before,” in a rousing speech to Texas supporters.

“This is the year we’re going to take back the House,” Trump said. “We’re going to take back the Senate. We’re going to take back America. And in 2024, we are going to take back that beautiful, beautiful house that happens to be white, that is so magnificent, and that we all love. We are going to take back the White House.”

The 45th president went on to make what sounded very much — to many — like campaign promises, insisting that he would fight for more jobs, more fair trade with international partners, and more American-made products.

“We will treat them fairly”

Trump went on to promise that he would turn his attention directly toward the plight of the detainees from the Jan. 6 riots, some of which have reportedly been treated like terrorists.

“We will treat those people from Jan. 6 fairly,” Trump stated. “We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons, because they are being treated so unfairly.”

“It’s a disgrace. We will treat them fairly, and we will take care of the people of this country. All of the people of this country.”

The former president ended his speech in much in the same way he spoke to throngs of supporters in 2016 saying he wanted to talk about “greatness for our country because we are one movement, one people, one family, and one glorious nation under God.”

“And together, we will make America powerful again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. We will make America united again. And we will make America great again,” Trump said, eliciting a roaring response from the crowd.
