Mehmet Oz, the Trump-endorsed celebrity doctor running to secure a spot as a Senate candidate out of Pennsylvania, is currently getting torched by firearm hobbyists after Oz published an awkward video showing him firing a gun to show his support for the Second Amendment.
As Breitbart reported, in the video, Dr. Oz can be seen making one of the most painful rookie mistakes while firing a Glock handgun — holding his thumb behind the slide. Such a move reveals that the Hollywood doctor has no real working experience with handguns, whatsoever, despite his claim to the contrary.Â
Dr. Oz, despite his endorsement from Trump, continues to take a beating in the polls, as his record on key issues, including gun control, has been exposed by a number of prominent, pro-Trump commentators.
Hi @DrOz! Remember when you tried to use the CDC to enforce gun control?

The video
At the end of April, Oz’s team uploaded a video in which the elitist Hollywood doctor proclaims that he’s a diehard gun guy, learning how to handle a gun from the teachings of his father, which Oz claims he passed down to his son.
Let’s hope his son received instruction elsewhere, as you’ll see in the video below.
“The fake Hollywood Doctor is trying way too hard. The cheesy country music is one thing; but my favorite part is him shooting the shotgun lefty and the pistols righty,” a Twitter user wrote, which was one of many observations of just how unfamiliar Oz seems to be as far as firearms are concerned.
Oz was also ripped for previously supporting “red flag” laws, which would give authorities the power to perform mental evaluations to determine if a private citizen is able to own a firearm or not.
New challenges
Aside from tanking in the polls with an overwhelming number of Trump supporters, Oz faces stiff competition in the upcoming Pennsylvania primary, as he’ll have to beat David McCormick, and rising conservative star Kathy Barnette, who The Hill reported are “neck and neck” with the celebrity doctor.
Barnette has become especially popular over the past week on social media, garnering support from extremely influential Trump-aligned conservatives, with many publicly calling on Trump to pull his Oz endorsement and switch it to Barnette, who also happens to be a Black woman.
Only time will tell if Oz manages to pull off a victory, but those odds seem to be getting a bit longer by the day.
