Durham exposes Clinton’s key role in Russian collusion disinformation op

Special Counsel John Durham has exposed Hillary Clinton’s central role in an elaborate disinformation campaign painting Donald Trump as a traitor working for Russia.

As part of that effort, Clinton’s opposition research outfit flooded the media with “unverified derogatory information” tying Trump and Russia on the eve of the 2016 election, Just the News reported.

Durham exposes Clinton disinfo operation

The most notorious disinformation product that Clinton had cooked up, the Christopher Steele dossier, formed the nucleus of the Trump-Russia hoax and was eventually used by the FBI to spy on Trump’s campaign. But Clinton had many irons in the fire.

In the months before the election, her campaign was aggressively pushing a bogus narrative tying Trump and a Russian bank to anti-Trump media outlets. Clinton herself drew attention to this supposedly nefarious connection on Twitter just days before the election.

According to hundreds of e-mails that Durham uncovered, an oppo research firm Clinton hired, Fusion GPS — the same company that hired Steele — began reaching out to journalists as early as May 2016 to plug the Alfa Bank story.

In one e-mail to the New York Times, a Fusion executive alludes to a prior meeting that appears to have intrigued the newspaper’s staff.

“Gents good to see you yesterday,” the email says. “Sounded like you might be interested in some of the attached russia-related material. these are internal, open source research drafts, as agreed, pls treat this as background/not for attribution. as you’ll see it’s all easily replicated anyway.”

The real collusion

But Clinton’s efforts didn’t stop with the “Fake News” media. A former Clinton campaign lawyer, Michael Sussmann, met with the FBI in September 2016 to push the Alfa Bank narrative on Clinton’s behalf. Durham has accused Sussmann of hiding his client from the FBI.

Sussmann also pushed the story on the CIA, which found it implausible. But the FBI’s investigation of Trump, dubbed “Crossfire Hurricane”, would continue for years before Robert Mueller concluded that no collusion occurred in the spring of 2019.

The real collusion, it appears, took place among Democrats, crooked intelligence agents, and partisan journalists who conspired to railroad candidate and then President Trump in an unprecedented attempt to thwart his historic election upset. One might even describe their efforts as a kind of insurrection.

In another startling e-mail, this one to the Wall Street Journal, Fusion urged the newspaper to get in touch with a House Representative and a U.S. senator about a certain Trump advisor who spoke in Moscow.

Clinton has fought to keep her records secret, but Durham says her aggressive promotion of Trump-Russia dirt “triggered a sizeable outflow of unverified derogatory information into the media, the government, and the public” about her election rival that contradicts her claims of attorney-client privilege.
