Fox News reported on a bizarre moment last week in which someone dressed as the Easter Bunny led President Biden away from reporters as he attempted to discuss foreign policy.
While the suit-wearer’s identity was initially a mystery, she was later revealed to be White House director of message planning Meghan Hays.
According to Fox News, the incident took place at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll which was held on April 18.
Easter Bunny interrupts Biden’s comments on Afghanistan
A viral video clip tweeted out by former British political adviser Thomas C. Dillon shows that it began as Biden was speaking about Afghanistan and Pakistan.

After a few seconds, someone off camera could be heard saying, “Oh, the Easter Bunny,” at which point Hays put her hand on the president and directed him away from the journalists.
The sight of Biden being managed by a holiday figure led to widespread mockery, with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro joking on his podcast that “the Easter Bunny, not Joe Biden, is running the country.”
Biden can’t be trusted to stay on message
Hays later released a photo of herself removing the costume’s mask, a fact that was picked up on by New York Post reporter Steven Nelson.
“The Easter Bunny who censored Biden’s attempt to answer a reporter’s question today seems to be Meghan Hays, who has gotten much of the blame from reporters for poor WH press access,” Nelson said in a tweet.

Western Journal contributor C. Douglas Golden argued in a piece put out the following day that Hays’ actions demonstrate that the White House does not believe Biden can be trusted to follow an approved narrative.
“So, why did the Easter Bunny do this? Turns out it was likely the White House’s director of message planning who was inside the outfit, and she was apparently making sure Biden didn’t go off message (again),” he wrote.
