Emails show White House got Instagram to censor page mocking Fauci

Conservatives have long complained of being targeted by big tech companies. However, new evidence proves they aren’t acting alone.

Recently uncovered emails show how the Biden administration had Instagram remove a page that mocked Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“Any way we can get this pulled down?”

According to the New York Post, the emails were obtained by a group of Republican-led states that are suing the federal government for colluding with social media platforms to suppress free speech.

One was sent in July of last year by Clarke Humphrey who serves as digital director for the White House digital COVID-19 response team.

In her email, Humphrey asked an Instagram official if the company would remove a Fauci parody page, saying, “Any way we can get this pulled down? It is not actually one of ours.” The official responded in less than a minute, telling Humphrey, “Yep, on it!”

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is one of the lawsuit’s plaintiffs, and he compared the Biden administration’s actions to those of a dictatorial regime.

“Ripped from the playbook of Stalin and his ilk, Biden has been colluding with Big Tech to censor free speech and propagandize the masses,” the Post quoted Landry as saying.

“We are fighting back to ensure the rule of law and prevent the government from unconstitutional banning, chilling, and stifling of speech,” he added.

Facebook stifled reporting on Hunter Biden following a warning from the FBI

This is not the first time that evidence has emerged of collusion between big tech firms and the federal government to shut down dissenting voices.

The Post reported last month that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg told Joe Rogan that during the 2020 election, Facebook limited the ability of users to see reports on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

What’s more, he added that this action was taken following a warning from the FBI about Russian disinformation.

“The FBI basically came to us… [saying], ‘Hey, you should be on high alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election. We have it on a notice that there is about to be some kind of a dump that is similar to that, so be just vigilant,'” Zuckerberg recalled.
