Fans of ‘The View’ want Whoopi Goldberg fired: report

A backlash against bomb-throwing daytime host Whoopi Goldberg is reverberating months after she nearly lost her job over comments about the Holocaust.

The Sun newspaper reports that fans of The View are calling on ABC to sack the “out of touch” comedian as she continues to offend many viewers with her erratic behavior.

Fans of The View want Goldberg gone

Online, some fans complain that Goldberg uses crass language that isn’t appropriate for daytime television and is combative with her co-hosts.

In a recent episode, Goldberg said that “sometimes you have to be an a– to be a parent,” a comment that led some to say she’s out of line.

One fan said Goldberg has “gotten exponentially worse this season,” while another agreed, “She shuts down any opinion she doesn’t agree with.” Yet another: “So out of touch.”

Goldberg’s not the only one with a potty mouth, though. Another viewer who noted that many families have their kids home for the summer complained about a foul-mouthed exchange between Goldberg and co-host Sunny Hostin about gun control.

“Between Whoopi using the word ‘b***hin’ and Sunny referring to Republicans ‘p**sing on her leg when it’s raining,’ I had to turn the show off,” the person wrote.

Skating on thin ice?

They say you should know your audience, but it looks like even The View’s liberal viewership finds the R-rated language a bit much.

Goldberg nearly destroyed her career in February when she made flippant comments about the Holocaust.

The comedienne bizarrely suggested that Hitler’s genocide of the Jews was not a big deal because it was a conflict between “two white groups of people,” which according to Goldberg meant it was “not about race.”

She was left to make a series of tortured apologies and was subjected to an on-air paddling by Jonathan Greenblatt, of the Anti-Defamation League. Despite all that, she was suspended anyway. Goldberg was so hurt that she threatened to leave the show, but she stayed on. Some fans apparently wish she didn’t.

It looks like Goldberg hasn’t learned any lessons from her brush with being canceled. After recent mass shootings, Goldberg said she would “punch somebody” if Republicans continue sharing thoughts and prayers for the victims of gun violence, instead of passing gun control. Charming.
