Dr. Anthony Fauci is the longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, the White House chief medical adviser, the undeniable public face of the federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, and a huge proponent of vaccines and boosters, face masks, social distancing, and other mitigations to avoid contracting the COVID-19 virus.
Yet, despite his adherence to such measures, it was announced Wednesday that Fauci had tested positive for the virus, Politico reported.
The 81-year-old bureaucratic scientist, who is proudly twice vaccinated and double boosted, was said to be isolated at home with mild symptoms and, according to an NIAID spokesperson, had been prescribed the new antiviral drug known as Paxlovid as a treatment.
Fauci tests positive
A news release from the National Institutes of Health revealed the shocking news that Dr. Fauci “tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test.”
“He is fully vaccinated and has been boosted twice. He is currently experiencing mild symptoms. Dr. Fauci will isolate and continue to work from his home,” the release continued.
The NIH added that Fauci “has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials. Dr. Fauci will follow the COVID-19 guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and medical advice from his physician and return to the NIH when he tests negative.”
So much for this being a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”
Townhall also reported on the bad news for Dr. Fauci, who for the past year and a half has been insistent that all Americans of all ages must get fully vaccinated and boosted in order to have any hope of avoiding contracting or transmitting the potentially fatal viral contagion.
Fauci had even dutifully echoed, if not actually prompted, President Joe Biden’s ill-advised and incorrect narrative throughout 2021 that COVID-19 was a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”
Indeed, Biden, Fauci, and others repeatedly insisted that the virus could be avoided if everyone got vaxxed and boosted, wore one or more face masks at all times, strictly maintained their distance from others — even family and friends and the sick and dying — and simply isolated themselves at home for the foreseeable future.
Numerous vaxxed and boosted Biden admin officials have caught COVID
Interestingly enough, the outlet noted that Fauci was from being alone as a fully vaxxed and boosted senior member of the Biden administration who, despite being super-serious about the pandemic, has nevertheless tested positive for the virus they were ostensibly protected from catching.
“Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, then-Press Secretary Jen Psaki, current Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, and adviser Susan Rice are just some of those within Biden’s inner circle who’ve had COVID previously despite being fully vaccinated,” Townhall noted. “All reportedly experienced mild symptoms and eventually returned to their duties.”
“We wish Dr. Fauci — who offered flip-flopping guidance, repeatedly violated COVID policies he’d urged, and insisted that the country lock down to the detriment of our people and our economy — a full and speedy recovery,” the outlet concluded.
