‘Shocking’: GOP congresswoman says FBI isn’t tracking Antifa violence

A Republican congresswoman from South Carolina just exposed a disturbing fact about the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Despite reports of violence at the hands of groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter, the FBI does not currently track violent acts committed by members of these groups, Rep. Nancy Mace said, according to Breitbart.

Speaking on a recent edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily, Mace said she learned the information from Timothy Langan, the assistant director of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division, during a recent hearing in the House Oversight Committee on counterterrorism.

During his testimony, Langan revealed that the FBI doesn’t track crimes by groups including Black Lives Matter or Antifa because the FBI classifies both as “movements” rather than as “domestic terrorist” organizations. On top of this, Langan said that the FBI doesn’t consider either group to be “anti-government” or “anti-authority,” Breitbart reports.

“We’ve all seen the violence”

Speaking with Breitbart, Mace said that she found Langan’s revelations “shocking” and “astounding.”

“We’ve all seen the violence over the last two years across cities around the nation, literally Antifa and Black Lives Matter burning down street corners, destroying companies, destroying people’s livelihoods, pulling people out of their cars and beating them in broad daylight, and we don’t track Antifa because — quote — it’s a movement,” Mace said.

“We know [Antifa] is an organization; it is a violent organization,” Mace added. “And we don’t track Antifa?”

“Focusing on the wrong people”

Mace went on to highlight another disturbing truth: although the FBI does not track violence by members of Black Lives Matter or Antifa, President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) is getting ready to go after another group of Americans: parents.

The congresswoman was referring to a recent announcement from U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland that the DOJ will be working to address “the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel.”

Garland claims that “in recent months, there has been a disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against” school officials, though he didn’t provide any examples. As such, many have been left to wonder whether Garland is actually targeting the passionate parents who have been speaking out at school board meetings against things like the teaching of critical race theory and mask mandates.

According to Mace, the fact that the Biden administration is going after parents but not the groups she claims are violent shows that the White House has its priorities all wrong.

“We have enemies within, but let’s track the people who are doing the violent acts and focus on those [who are] committing those violent acts, and that’s not what we’re doing,” the South Carolina congresswoman said, according to Breitbart. “It’s backwards. They’re doing it backwards, focusing on the wrong people.”
