FBI leaders told their agents not to investigate Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 presidential election, according to whistleblowers within the agency.
Top officials at the FBI rationalized the decision by saying they were “not going to change the outcome of the election again,” the New York Post reported.
FBI blocked Hunter Biden probe
Those comments were likely referring to the FBI’s decision to re-open the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation days before the 2016 election.
Of course, by not investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop, the FBI may well have changed the outcome of the contest in Biden’s favor.
The whistleblowers, who reached out to Republican Senator Ron Johnson (Wi.), were specifically instructed, “you will not look at that Hunter Biden laptop.” Johnson shared the explosive claims in a letter to DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz.
The FBI did not begin looking at the laptop until after the election, “potentially a year after the FBI obtained the laptop in December 2019,” Johnson wrote in his letter.
Previously, whistleblowers alerted Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Ia.) that insiders at the FBI sought to discredit incriminating information about Hunter Biden as “Russian disinformation” before the 2020 election.
Free and fair?
On the eve of the election, dozens of former intelligence officials publicly put their thumbs on the scale by baselessly asserting that the New York Post’s October 2020 expose of Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.”
The FBI whistleblowers’ claims suggest that the intel community’s interference was the most public part of a shadowy, coordinated effort to get then-candidate Biden elected.
While the “Russian disinformation” talking point is no longer taken seriously even by Biden-friendly mainstream media, at the time, then-candidate Biden, the press, and Big Tech used it as an excuse to ignore and censor the scandal.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg told podcaster Joe Rogan Thursday that a tip from the FBI was instrumental in Facebook’s decision to throttle the Hunter Biden story.
Despite the evidence, Democrats continue to insist that that the 2020 election was “free and fair.” They also claim that Donald Trump’s home being raided months before the midterm elections is just the “rule of law” in action, but it looks like the rules are entirely different for the Biden family.
