FBI raids home of pro-life activist

Life Site News has reported that the home of of Catholic author and pro-life activist Mark Houck was raided by heavily armed FBI agents last week.

Houck charged under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act

The raid stems from a physical altercation between Houck and an abortion clinic worker who Houck says was harassing his 12-year-old son.

The outlet noted that while a civil suit filed by the employee was thrown out of court, Houck is now facing charges under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.

Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie told Life Site News that agents yelled and pointed weapons at the couple, something which left their seven children. An online fundraiser has since been created to assist with the family’s legal expenses.

For his part, Republican Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano addressed the raid during an interview with conservative talk radio host Todd Starnes.

Republican candidate compares raid to a military operation

“It really is chilling what’s going on,” Mastriano said. “I was in the Army for 30 years and that is the kind of raid we do against known insurgents who are heavily armed and funded by military-grade weapons.”

“We send about 30 or so special ops and many vehicles. And the only thing that was missing here, Todd, was breaking down the door. And I bet that would have happened had the house, of course, been delayed in answering,” Mastriano said.

When Starnes pointed out that the civil suit against Houck was thrown out, Mastriano responded by saying, “That’s not good enough for Joe Biden though.”

“So Joe Biden’s now using the federal charges and federal agents to enforce this law,” the Republican candidate continued.

Mastriano then referenced the speech Biden gave earlier this month in which he accused Republicans of being “a threat to this country.”

“Obviously, Todd, it’s designed to send a signal per Joe Biden’s awful, horrific speech in Independence Hall last month here that the political opponents here that he is going to go against us and he wants us to sit down and comply,” Mastriano said.

He then pointed to the disparity in the treatment dished out to conservatives compared with that seen by members of the left.

“Where’s the night raid against those left-wingers that had been burning down and vandalizing emergency crisis pregnancy centers?” Mastriano demanded.
