Feminist questioned by police for saying biological males can’t be lesbians

A feminist in Norway was questioned by police for saying that biological men can’t be lesbians or mothers, which may violate new hate speech laws in the Scandinavian country.

Christina Ellingsen, who represents the global feminist organization Women’s Declaration International (WDI), criticized Norwegian trans activist group Foreningen FRI in October for instructing children that males can be lesbians.

One of the transgender group’s advisers, Christine Marie Jentoft, was singled out by Ellingsen for being a biological male who identifies as a lesbian, which led to a police complaint against Ellingsen.

Bringing attention

WDI Norge tweeted about the situation:

“Jentoft, who is male and an advisor in FRI, presents himself as a lesbian – that’s how bonkers the organization which supposedly works to protect young lesbians’ interests is. How does it help young lesbians when males claim to be lesbian, too?” Ellingsen reportedly said.

But apparently, questions like this are no longer allowed in places like Norway that think they are protecting transgender rights while they are actually hurting everyone’s rights.

Discrimination against women

Ellingsen is also accused of harassing Jentoft by saying on national television, “You are a man. You cannot be a mother. To normalize the idea that men can be mothers is a defined form of discrimination against women.”

This is the problem with elevating one group’s rights over others–it’s impossible to do such a thing fairly.

The Founding Fathers defined rights in the U.S. rather narrowly for this very reason, but now societies around the world including American society think that everything is a right and that if a group gets offended, it must mean that someone hates them and should be punished.

Groups can’t have it both ways. If their rights trample on someone else’s, that must be considered and reconciled carefully–but it must be dealt with.

Norway is already pretty far down the rabbit hole; a man spent three weeks in jail and had to pay a heavy fine after he was found guilty of insulting and “misgendering” a transgender person on Facebook. This kind of lunacy is spreading around the world, and the U.S. will not be far behind if things continue as they have been.
