Former Dem candidate for governor arrested on child porn charges

A Democrat who has run for governor twice in Maine was arrested on Friday on child pornography charges.

Eliot Cutler was apprehended by Maine State Police after a search warrant was issued on his two homes.

Possibly more charges

“Hancock County District Attorney Matthew Foster said there may be additional charges filed against Culter after the authorities finish reviewing the material obtained by the search warrants,” the Daily Caller reported.

“The search warrants covered alleged crimes from December through March and authorities are still reviewing the material, Foster said, according to the outlet,” the report added.

Democrat donor

In addition to running for governor, Cutler has been a major donor of other Democrat campaigns.

“He’s given tens of thousands to Democrat campaigns nationwide, including Janet Mills,” Maine GOP tweeted.

The news has already led, “Three top Maine politicians who received campaign contributions from former two-time gubernatorial hopeful Eliot Cutler said they were donating funds to charity on Monday after Cutler was arrested on child pornography charges,” according to Bangor Daily News.

The sad events will reveal more in the days ahead and the public only hopes the crimes aren’t worse than what has already been reported.
