Former mob boss calls out Cuomo over nursing home scandal ‘I’d never do it’

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is taking heat from some unsavory characters as he remains in the news with information about his indiscretions while in office continue to circulate.

According to Fox News, a former mob boss has said that despite his record, he “would never do that,” in reference to the former governor’s COVID nursing home scandal.

Sammy “The Bull” Gravano, the former boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City, had some choice words for his former governor that were voiced in a new series alongside former Colombo caporegime Michael Franzese where they talked about the deadly scandal:

“I hate to get into Gov. Cuomo. I will a little bit because he’s Italian and I can’t stand it,” Gravano said in the clip obtained by Fox News. In it, the mob boss confirmed his disdain for the then-governor.

“One, because he’s Italian and I’m embarrassed to have someone do what he did as an Italian,” The Bull continued. “He killed 15,000 people by putting people with the coronavirus in [nursing homes] with old people.”

“I don’t give a f— who tells me to do that, whether it’s [former President] Trump, the president, the vice president, you, him, I would never do it,” Gravano said, gesturing to moderator Patrick Bet-David and Franzese. “And I’m a badass. I’d never do it.”

Gravano said that anyone who does what Cuomo did has “no concern,” for others and doesn’t think about his family, including his “great-grandchildren who aren’t even born” that are “going to deal with s— like this.”

The former head of the Gambino family made these comments while filming The Mafia States of America which was directed by Gerard Michaels, who told Fox News during a phone interview Monday that the series was the first of it’s kind, sitting down with two mobsters.

The director said that while governor, Cuomo stonewalled him on the project when they attempted to reach the then-governor’s office to comment on the series.

“They were silent. Any of our emails were never responded to,” Michaels said. “And every time we tried to make a phone call, all they did was push to another department, who then tried to push us to another department, who tried to push us to another department, who then tried to push us to another department.”

In the series, the director asked Gravano and Franzese about the former governor and what their view of his lack of accountability, to which they both responded that they were “no fans” of Cuomo “at all,” and didn’t think any more highly of his bother, Chris Cuomo.

The host said that the Cuomos’ father, the late Mario Cuomo, was “well respected by the mob” while working as the New York governor, and had connections to them through his wife and was reportedly “easy to deal with.”
