‘We’re done’: Fox News host slams Biden’s record on COVID-19

President Joe Biden campaigned on a platform that included vanquishing the COVID-19 pandemic while painting his predecessor as responsible for countless deaths caused by the virus.

As one Fox News Channel personality recently revealed, however, more Americans seem to be dying from COVID-19 under the Biden administration than under former President Donald Trump.

“Blood on his hands”

Greg Gutfeld made his point during a segment of The Five this week, asserting that the president has “blood on his hands” as a result of his pandemic policies.

Trump was widely disparaged by progressives as unwilling to “follow the science,” but Biden’s approach has clearly not prevented the virus from doing what viruses are designed to do.

Thus far in 2021, there have been 386,000 COVID-19 deaths — even as vaccines are widely available — compared to 385,000 last year.

Gutfeld asserted that Biden spent much of the presidential campaign slamming Trump’s positions for strictly political reasons.

Specifically, he noted that Biden described Trump’s travel ban as racist and suggested vaccines could be dangerous before changing his tune upon entering office.

“Like a deadbeat relative”

“I mean, everything that they criticized Trump for has turned out to be correct,” Gutfeld added.

Asserting that a growing number of Americans are tired of the mainstream media’s fearmongering, the host explained: “It’s like a deadbeat relative that says it’s going to stay for a couple of days and it’s now on in months. We’re ready, we’re done.”

Of course, no reasonable person could argue that Biden should have been able to make the pandemic vanish as if by magic. Critics of the current administration, however, might argue that Biden and others on the left seemed to hold Trump to that standard by linking his policies to every American death attributed to COVID-19.

In any case, the staggering and tragic death toll appears to bolster growing concern that Biden’s policies are not resulting in the progress he promised as a candidate.

After nearly a year defined by mandates and a mantra of “follow the science,” it is becoming clear that some Democrats appear to be putting politics first and letting the actual science fall by the wayside.
