Fox News host says GOP can’t deny Jan. 6 was a ‘big deal’

Fox News anchor Bret Baier said during “America Reports”on Tuesday said you “cannot watch this testimony and say that it’s not a big deal,” concerning the accounts from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s select House committee.

“I watched every minute of this. If you were watching, you saw compelling, at times damning, emotional testimony from these four officers who fought the line to try to protect the Capitol and the lawmakers inside,” Baier said.

“For anybody watching who looked at that and looked at the videos and their testimony about that day and thought it was not violent, I think that was an eye-opener,” he added.

A Big Deal

Baier also addressed the new attempt by Republicans to blame Pelosi’s committee as a partisan effort.

“While Republicans politically are saying that this is a partisan effort and that they charge that it’s not going to get to the questions that they think are important about January 6th, why were the Capitol Police so ill-prepared for what happened that day. You cannot watch this testimony and say that it’s not a big deal.”

He added, “And you cannot watch this testimony and say that there are questions that are going to take us places that I don’t think we know where we’re going to go yet.”

Not the Only ‘Riot’

Baier has also been quick to report, however, regarding other attacks in the nation’s capital. He tweeted on Wednesday, “we covered the riots in various cities and have covered the increased crime more than anyone and have asked officials (the ag – the fbi director) about those investigations. Sorry you missed those reports.

Some conservatives have blasted Baier over the coverage, yet he has attempted to point out both the wrongs of Jan. 6 as well as leftist riots in Washington and nationwide.

In addition, Baier brought Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan onto his program to speak about being rejected from Pelosi’s committee.

Jordan has continued to refer to the committee as “Impeachment 3.0” and says Pelosi’s narrative will play the key role regardless of the evidence.
