A longtime Georgia Democrat just stabbed Kamala Harris in the back.
According to Fox Business, Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones (D) came out strongly against his party’s vice presidential nominee in an interview Tuesday, calling Harris “dangerous” for the minority community because of her willingness to do anything for power.
Jones, who is Black, said Tuesday that there “would be chaos if Joe Biden was to win” the election next month — and that’s all thanks to California’s junior senator.
“First of all, Joe would not be the president,” Jones told host Charles Payne, according to Fox Business. “It would be who? Kamala Harris. She will do any and everything, say any and everything for power. She is intellectually dishonest. She is flip-flopping. She has gone back and forth.”
“She is dangerous”
Case in point: During Harris’ time as San Francisco’s district attorney (DA) and California’s attorney general, she imprisoned more than 130,000 “Black and brown” Americans, Jones alleged Tuesday, and according to The Mercury News, she oversaw nearly 2,000 convictions for marijuana possession as DA.
Now, the vice presidential hopeful claims that she would work to reform local police departments, decriminalize marijuana, and let out of jail anyone doing time for minor crimes related to the drug, expunging their criminal records, as Reason magazine notes.
It’s a back-and-forth record that only bolsters Jones’ claims about Harris’ political expediency.
“A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Kamala Harris to be president, not Joe Biden,” the Democrat declared Tuesday, according to Fox Business. “She is dangerous.”
Eyes on the Oval
Questions of whether Harris would indeed take over the presidency following a Biden win have been swirling for months, and more than half of likely voters polled in an August survey said they didn’t think the former vice president could make it through a full term in office, according to the New York Post. At 77 (and soon to turn 78), Biden would be the oldest sitting president if elected, the Delaware News Journal noted last year.
It doesn’t help, of course, that his running mate has positioned herself as an “ambitious” politician with her sights set on the Oval Office.
After failing to win a single delegate before dropping out of the Democrat presidential primaries, Harris has now wormed her way onto the Democrat ticket, and it’s too late for Biden to change his mind.
Voters didn’t want Harris’ brand of radicalism during the primaries, but if they aren’t careful, they could end up with it being shoved down their throats anyway, at least according to Jones. It’s the new Democrat way, don’t you know?
