Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) has dismissed calls from Republicans to impeach Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and his reasons for doing so will shock you.
During a press conference on Thursday, Kemp dismissed the notion of impeaching Willis by calling it “political theater."
Kemp stated, "The bottom line is that in the state of Georgia, as long as I’m governor, we’re going to follow the law in the Constitution regardless of who it helps or harms politically. And in Georgia, we will not be engaging in political theater that only inflames the emotions of the moment."
Apparently, Willis's political theater is permissible but holding her accountable for violating her oath of office and weaponizing the justice system against a political opponent isn't acceptable and counts as "engaging in political theater."
Once again Governor Kemp has been a stickler for the rules while letting Democrats in his state run wild.
Kemp has made a habit of stabbing former President Donald Trump in the back stretching back to the 2020 presidential election.
However, his defense of Willis is a new low considering the information that has come out about Willis's indictment of the former President. From procedural violations to outright and unquestionable political theater, Willis has destroyed the integrity of Georgia's justice system.
Georgia state Senator Colton Moore (R) responded to Kemp's press conference saying, "Governor Brian Kemp is not being honest with the people of Georgia. He is allowing his disdain for President Trump to cloud his judgment. Specifically, Section 2, paragraph 7… which outlines his clear power to call an emergency session."
Kemp wants to take the supposed high ground and argue about following rules when in reality impeaching Willis is a perfectly legal course of action.
Moore continued by saying, "As the corrupt Fulton County DA continues to target Donald Trump… I only have one question for the Governor: When are you going to stand with the people of Georgia and convene the emergency session that your constituents are demanding?"
Governor Kemp has once again proven that he is spineless and incapable of fighting back against the left. Georgia voters ought to consider if he is the right person to be running their state.
In today's Republican Party, there is no room for those who lack the spine to fight the left and beat them at their own game.
The left has demonstrated that they will manipulate and break the rules to their advantage and Republicans must be willing to get to every length possible to counter them.
Donald Trump has shown that fighting back works and those who aren't onboard with that plan need to be booted. Willis has already proven that she is a political actor and she must be removed and barred from public service.
