Following an audit of ballots from November’s election in Maricopa County, Arizona, a review of votes in the largest county of another state has just been approved in court.
Judge Brian Amero in Georgia permitted the audit to go forward after poll watchers raised concerns about “pristine” ballots that looked identical to each other. According to RealClearInvestigations, the judge read sworn testimony about possibly photocopied ballots and was convinced to secure a warehouse where roughly 147,000 ballots are being kept.
President Joe Biden’s narrow victory in Georgia was surprising to many Americans and, in the opinion of some skeptics, too close for comfort in Fulton County. The Democratic-leaning county is home to Atlanta.
Further complicating matters was the fact that the vote count in the county was temporarily interrupted on Election Day when a water pipe burst.
Surveillance footage also reportedly showed election officials transporting containers of ballots from under a table at State Farm Arena before counting them at a later time.
Longtime poll worker Susan Voyles claimed she was fired after raising concerns during a recount, indicating that she noticed a batch of ballots almost entirely for Biden that looked “pristine” and possibly photocopied. She said that the ballots had no creases and appeared to consist of different paper stock than those in other batches.
Voyles claimed that the markings on the suspicious ballots appeared virtually identical, which is something she said she had never seen in 20 years on the job.
“The bubble next to ‘Joseph R. Biden’ had a slight white eclipse in the bubble,” Voyles said. “Every single bubble was precisely alike.”
“The votes have been counted”
Additional poll watchers in the county said they also observed batches of ballots that seemed to have been duplicated. Two registered Democrats working the polls in neighboring DeKalb and Cobb counties lodged similar concerns.
Carlos E. Silva spoke out about the situation, declaring: “There were thousands of [mail-in] ballots that just had the perfect bubble marked for Biden and no other markings in the rest of the ballot.”
Former President Donald Trump took note of the controversy, suggesting that Democrats “are afraid of what might be found” in the actual election results. Of course, Democratic officials like Rob Pitts are outraged over the prospect of an audit.
“Where does it end?” the top county commissioner asked, according to RealClearInvestigations. “The votes have been counted.”
