One Republican candidate is coming for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Breitbart reports that former Army Ranger Jesse Jensen, a Republican, is once again running for a House seat, and one of his pitches is that “If you fire Nancy Pelosi … we’re back to a better way of life.”
For those unfamiliar with Jensen, he is a veteran who has been through four Afghanistan deployments, and now he is looking to get into politics.
In 2020, Jensen made a run at Washington’s Eighth Congressional District, taking on Rep. Kim Schrier (D-WA). Jensen almost won that race, only losing by a few percentage points, despite the fact that he was at a massive disadvantage.
According to Jensen, in 2020, he was “out-raised five to one” and “out-spent ten to one.”
For those unfamiliar with Washington’s Eighth Congressional District, it is one of the places where the “defund the police” movement really got going. It was also one of those places that had a CHAZ or CHOP zone, standing for, respectively, Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone or Capitol Hill Organized Protest.
So, it’s not exactly the type of congressional district that one would expect a Republican to do well in. But, despite this fact, Jensen almost won in 2020, and he appears confident that in 2022 he could actually defeat Schrier, helping Republicans to take back the Hosue of Representatives.
“Back to a better way of life”
In an interview with Breitbart, Jensen talked about what to expect if Republicans are successful in the midterm elections.
“Well, your taxes won’t go up, for one,” he said. “Inflation will go down and Critical Race Theory won’t be taught in your classrooms. The list goes on and on, we’ll have the economy be better, we’ll have a more secure border, and law and order will be essentially established.”
Jensen attributed many of the problems that America is currently facing to the Democrats and the policies that their leaders, such as Pelosi, have enacted.
Jenson concluded, “If you fire Nancy Pelosi… we’re back to a better way of life.”
There certainly is a lot of truth in that. We’ll have to keep an eye on this race to see if Jenson pulls off the upset.
