A series of subsequent tweets explained that Steube tumbled 25 feet down from a ladder as he was "cutting tree limbs on his Sarasota property."
Thank you to all who continue to pray for Congressman Steube. The Congressman was knocked approximately 25 feet down off a ladder while cutting tree limbs on his Sarasota property yesterday afternoon.

One said that he was "making progress and in good spirits" after having "spent the night in the ICU where several serious injuries are still under assessment but not life-threatening at this time."
Another expressed gratitude for the medical personnel who treated Steube along with "the individual who witnessed the fall and immediately called 911, as well as Sarasota County’s Emergency Services for their quick response and transportation."
The Twitter account later revealed on Thursday afternoon that Steube had been "moved out of the ICU" while he and his family remain "grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and prayers."
Words of encouraged were posted by Steube's fellow members of Congress, including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
I spoke with @RepGregSteube and his wife, Jen, this morning. He is in good spirits, and our entire conference prays for a swift recovery. I informed him he will serve on the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and he is eager to get back to work!

However, other Twitter users mocked Steube, with one demanding to know if he had dialed 911 during the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
Did you call 911 on January 6th 2021...when injured officers were being overrun by Trump's insurgents (& simultaneously betrayed by D.Trump & his corrupt DOD appointees)? #MillerDOD #TraitorTrump #PriorSabotage #Jan6th
May you repent of supporting trickery & deceit! #Jan6CoverUp— 🇺🇸 CitizenRevere 🙏 (@CitizenRevere) January 19, 2023
