The GOP exposes the Dems’ $1.9 trillion coronavirus bill

Several Republican members of Congress are now warning Americans about the negative aspects of the latest $1.9 trillion coronavirus bill pushed by Democrat leaders including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and President Joe Biden.

After narrowly surviving the Senate by a party-line vote of 50 to 49, it now appears certain that the bill will become law in the very near future. The next step in the process is for the House of Representatives to vote on it.

Point one: The bill has very little to do with coronavirus-related relief

This has been one of the Republicans’ main talking points over the past several weeks. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) drove this point home on Tuesday during an appearance on the Fox News Channel.

“Oh, for heaven sakes. There was 91 percent of that bill that did not go to supporting COVID-related recovery, so 91 percent of the bill shouldn’t have passed,” Ernst said.

Similarly, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), during his own appearance on the Fox News Channel, called the bill a “slush fund,” saying that “it has nothing to with COVID,” that it “has very little money in it for COVID.”

There have been countless other news reports, such as this one, demonstrating the “pork” that the $1.9 trillion bill contains. And, even some Democrats have admitted that “there is some waste” in the bill. The question is: where is the money going?

“A Trojan Horse for socialism”

As Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) recently put it, the $1.9 trillion bill is a “Trojan Horse for socialism.” “It is everything Democrats have wanted wrapped and branded in coronavirus so that people are scared into voting for it,” he added.

Other Republican members of Congress have begun demonstrating this. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) this week wrote an article for Fox in which they showed how the bill is going to shift money from red states to blue states.

“Their scheme trickles out a paltry 9% of its total price tag for vaccine distribution, expanded testing, and health care jobs, and dedicates billions to earmarks and line items that will overwhelmingly benefit Democrat-run states at the expense of Republican-led ones,” Blackburn and Lee write. They go on to note, for example, that “this bill uses unemployment numbers to determine final state payouts and rewards failing blue states with the tax dollars of red states whose jobless rates didn’t spike as dramatically.”

Breitbart also put out an article on a report from the Urban Policy Tax Center, which shows that taxpayers, via the $1.9 trillion bill, “will provide the neediest 20 percent of their countrymen a 20 percent increase in income.”

This is just a small taste of where some of the money in this massive $1.9 trillion bill will be going.

Rep. Nunes said that “we are going to be tracking the money.” And, he predicted that at some point “there’s going to be story after story after story about liberal groups and liberal friends, leftists and socialists being rewarded with other people’s money effectively, the taxpayers’.”

  2. Keep your eyes peeled, taxpayers. Even with all this $$$ being diverted from Red States to Blue, these “sanctuary cities” will still be &^%$holes!

The trust we impose on the Politicians continue to backfire on us simply because fully grown Adults cannot make decisions in a bipartisan way, leaving us to accept the crumbs and garbage handed out by ONE (1) Party. There are many forms of Democracy, but the main theme should always be operating in that BiPartisan method, don’t you think? Don’t call yourselves Democrats otherwise.
