GOP lawmaker vows to hold the ‘Hillary Clintons of the world’ accountable

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has just been put on notice.

Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) has told Breitbart News that, if/when Republicans take back the House later this year, a point of emphasis will be accountability, with the ultimate goal of investigations and possibly jail time for Clinton and others of her ilk.

“First and foremost”

Cammack’s comments came during an interview with Breitbart at Turning Point USA’s “AmericaFest.”

“When we take the House back in the 118th, first and foremost, we are going to be focused on accountability,” she said, adding “people need to go to jail.”

Cammack went on to name names, including Clinton’s.

She continued:

I’m talking about the Hillary Clintons of the world. I’m talking about the Eric Holders. I’m talking about all these people who have continued to cause strife and division, break the law, subvert the Rule of Law, and they have never been held accountable.

Cammack said that this will be one of the ways that Republicans, upon victory in the 2022 midterm elections, will look to “earn the trust of the American people back.”

The plan

The plan presented by Cammack has been echoed by a number of Republicans since the turn of the year, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). It’s part of House Republicans’ campaign strategy, namely, to give Americans a preview of what the GOP wants to accomplish should they retake the House later this year, which they are predicted to do.

Accountability has been a source of emphasis for McCarthy and his fellow House Republicans.

Cammack revealed some of the investigations that might come about, which include investigations into various pandemic-related issues, such as pandemic’s origin, investigations into the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, investigations into the southern border crisis, and many more.

Clinton would obviously be near or at the top of the list for a number of Republican voters, as far as a desire for an investigation. Despite all kinds of evidence of potential wrongdoing, including most recently her connection to the Russia collusion hoax, Clinton has avoided prosecution.

Hopefully, with the reclaimed power, if they take back the House, Republican lawmakers will walk the walk.
