GOP midterm campaigns find Harris an easy target

Vice President Kamala Harris has increasingly become the target of attack for Republicans campaigning for midterm elections, according to a report from Breitbart News.

“Republicans have been attacking Harris, who has generally been left with a lower approval rating than President Joe Biden, even though Biden is still having trouble defining his achievements among voters,” the report said.

“She has even been criticized recently for insulting thousands of rural voters while Democrats spew false claims about the wave of voter integrity legislation that is taking shape across the country,” it added.

Lousy Campaign to Lousy Performance

The Seattle Times reported on Wednesday, “Harris ran a lousy presidential campaign, which flamed out well shy of the White House. As vice president, she’s put her ambitions in a blind trust, assuming the traditional role of understudy and dutifully tending the portfolio given her by the president.”

It added, “But to hear Republicans tell it, it’s not Biden but the former California senator who has her Chuck Taylors planted firmly in the Oval Office.”

Despite her accomplishments as both the first female Vice President and the first Vice President of color in America, Harris has faced strong criticism for multiple issues during her short time in the White House.

Early in the immigration surge, President Joe Biden assigned Harris to lead the response. For more than 100 days, Harris avoided a visit to the border. When she did, her El Paso photo opp fell far short of addressing the real concerns of illegal immigration.

In contrast, several lawmakers visited locations where unaccompanied minors stayed. In addition, former President Trump visited the border with Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in strong show regarding border security.

The efforts left Harris appearing weak and uncertain on immigration, with growing disapproval of how she and Biden have handled the issue.

More Than Immigration

Harris has struggled with far more than the immigration crisis. In multiple interviews, the vice president has come across as rude or belittling, doing little to draw in Democrats and others looking to her as a potential future presidential choice.

The vice president also recently announced a $25 million initiative to overturn Republican election laws. The move is certain to further alienate conservatives, including many who see the move as further work to hide voter fraud.

The concerns and her spotlight from mainstream media as Biden often remains invisible to the public, have led Republicans to target Harris in their political campaigns.
