Breitbart News reports that Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) just accused President Joe Biden’s administration of waging a “war on America.”
Hagerty made the accusation during an appearance Thursday on the Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle.
There, Hagerty commented on the recent news that the Biden White House is in favor of sending some $40 billion to Ukraine. The Biden administration made this clear after the U.S. House of Representatives this week overwhelmingly passed a bill to do so.
Many, particularly on the political right, have slammed the idea considering the numerous domestic problems, such as inflation, that Americans are currently experiencing. Some, in order to forcefully make their point, have even pointed to reports that parents in some parts of the country are having trouble finding baby formula in stores.
“War on America”
Hagerty touched upon all of this on Thursday, saying, “we have pressing problems right here at home we are not addressing.”
“We talked about it earlier in this segment,” Hagerty said. “We have got people in Memphis that can’t find formula for their children; people in Knoxville that can’t gas their tank up because it’s too expensive in my home state of Tennessee. I’m from a flyover state, as they call it here in Washington. We have real problems here.”
Hagerty blames this all on the Biden administration.
The policies they have taken [are] basically war on America — collapsing our southern border, standing by as China wages war on our youth, killing more people with fentanyl than any other thing – from the ages of 18-45 in America, that’s the number one killer. China’s fingerprint is on this, and we are standing by and letting it happen. Yet, we are rushing to take care of problems overseas.
“Out of touch”
Hagerty went on to slam the Biden administration as “out of touch” with Americans.
“I think it just reflects the total, out-of-touch nature of this entire Biden administration,” Hagerty said.
“They would rather wage war on Americans, criticize Americans, and ignore our plight here in America, yet rush to a cause that perhaps Joe Biden gets better rating points on – I’m not certain. But it certainly isn’t as pressing as what’s happening right here in America,” Hagerty concluded.
The senator hit the nail on the head with this one.
