Greta Thunberg rants against Biden: Strange people consider him ‘a leader’

Leftist activist Greta Thunberg blasted President Joe Biden in an interview on Monday, arguing that it was strange that people considered him “a leader” on climate issues.

The interview was published in a Washington Post article on Monday on climate issues.

Not a Climate Leader?

“If you call him a leader — I mean, it’s strange that people think of Joe Biden as a leader for the climate when you see what his administration is doing,” Thunberg said.

“The U.S. is actually expanding fossil fuel infrastructure,” she added.

“Why is the U.S. doing that? It should not fall on us activists and teenagers who just want to go to school to raise this awareness and to inform people that we are actually facing an emergency.”

What About That Endorsement?

Despite her attacks, Thunberg previously endorsed Biden due to his stand on climate issues.

“I never engage in party politics. But the upcoming US elections is above and beyond all that. From a climate perspective it’s very far from enough and many of you of course supported other candidates. But, I mean…you know…damn! Just get organized and get everyone to vote #Biden,” she tweeted in 2020.

The contrast in messaging reveals a common theme for Thunberg. She has been known for supporting a person or group for their climate change work and then later criticize them for not doing enough.

The negative message against Biden may make for new attention for Thunberg, but really marks nothing new in her habit of attacking those already supporting climate change to challenge them to do more.
