Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw, one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks to ever play the game, shocked his co-hosts and millions of viewers at home when he revealed on Sunday what he’s had to battle over the past year.
According to the Washington Examiner, Bradshaw, 74, announced during his broadcast that he’s had to battle two forms of cancer over the past year alone.
The admission, presumably something Bradshaw wanted to keep personal, came during Sunday’s Fox NFL Sunday show, a week after viewers expressed concern for his health when he seemed to have run out of breath during last week’s show and generally didn’t look well.
Bradshaw admitted that last week’s incident compelled him to let viewers know where his health is at right now.
“I just want to address it”
In typical Bradshaw fashion, the former football star came right out and said what he needed to say.

“Last week on this show, I ran out of breath, and Howie [Long] helped me up,” Bradshaw said. “And a lot of people are asking what’s wrong with me, what’s happened to me physically. I just want to address it and let you know what has happened in my life.”
He added: “In November, I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. I went to the Yale University Medical Center — surgery, treatment. As of today, I am bladder cancer-free. Alright, that’s the good news.”
“Then, in March, feeling good. I had a bad neck. I get an MRI. Now, we find a tumor in my left neck. And it’s a Merkel cell tumor, which is a rare form of skin cancer. So I had that surgery done at M.D. Anderson in Houston,” he continued.
“Feeling great”
The superstar went on to say that while he doesn’t look like he used to, he feels “great,” and wants to move forward and continue to provide analysis each week during NFL football.
“Folks, I may not look like my old self, but I feel like my old self. I’m cancer-free, I’m feeling great. And over time, I’m going to be back to where I normally am,” Bradshaw said.
Bradshaw received several touching comments from his co-hosts after the big reveal, with one of them telling him that his words have likely provided comfort to someone going through a similar situation.
