Guess what Vice President Kamala Harris was up to during her recent trip to Los Angeles, California, for the ninth Summit of the Americas?
According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, Harris was apparently partying — she even attended an event the outlet referred to as a “private power dinner.”
That’s right, as Americans continued to suffer from the ongoing economic crisis, Harris was having a blast at a “private power dinner” that appears to have included a number of Hollywood elites.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the event took place in early June, just before the ninth Summit of the Americas. Apparently, Harris arranged things so that during the weekend of her arrival, she could, among other stops, attend this “private power dinner.”
The outlet provides specifics that it learned about the power dinner, including where it took place.
The article’s author, Chris Gardner writes:
The Hollywood Reporter learned that Harris and her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, headed to the home of CAA’s Bryan Lourd and husband Bruce Bozzi for a dinner described as “a gathering of old friends.”
Garnder goes on to provide the identities of some of those in attendance.
The guest list included Lourd’s CAA comrade Kevin Huvane, Barry Diller, Greg Berlanti and husband Robbie Rogers, Allison Janney, Disney’s Kareem Daniels and filmmaker Paul T. Anderson with wife Maya Rudolph, who won an Emmy in 2021 for hosting duties on Saturday Night Live during which she portrayed the vice president. (No word, however, on what was discussed or whether they dished on her impersonation.)
This power dinner, though, was only part of Harris’s plans for her stay.
The Hollywood Reporter states that Harris and Emhoff “stayed at their Brentwood home and she even hit up one of their favorite haunts for Mexican food, Santa Monica’s El Cholo.”
Gardner then, in an apparent attempt to make it look like Harris was actually working during all of this, writes, “Harris made it a working meal by hosting business executives and insiders involved in her Call to Action for northern Central America.”
It sounds, though, more like Harris took a vacation under the guise of working, rather than the other way around. You be the judge.
