Vice President Kamala Harris is slated to speak with former President Bill Clinton on Friday to discuss — of all things — the empowerment of women and girls amid the COVID-19 pandemic. But while the VP may be proudly touting her plans, not everyone is buying what she’s trying to sell.
According to Breitbart, Harris is facing heavy pushback from the likes of actress Rose McGowan, a champion of the #MeToo movement and warrior on behalf of sexually abused women who said the vice president’s choice to speak alongside Clinton is both “obscene” and “disgusting.”
In a missive aimed at Harris, McGowan wondered how the message of “empowering women” could possibly be embodied in Clinton, especially given his ties to the disgraced child predator Jeffrey Epstein.
“This is obscene”
According to The Hill, the public discussion between Harris and Clinton will be held Friday at Howard University, and comes as part of the 13th annual Clinton Global Initiative University meeting.
Among numerous other topics, the former president and current VP are set to discuss “empowering women and girls in the U.S. and around the world,” according to a press release detailing the event.
It’s news that wasn’t received well by McGowan. “This is obscene,” she tweeted to Harris on Wednesday, as Breitbart reported.
“You speaking with Bill Clinton about empowering women [and] girls is disgusting,” the actress added of Harris. “Have you no soul? Have you no ethics? Ask him about being on an island of human trafficking victims 27 times. You are showing us exactly who you are.”

McGowan’s tweet linked to a Wikipedia page outlining several sexual misconduct allegations that have been lodged against Clinton, including from Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, and Monica Lewinsky.
McGowan also shared in her tweet a similar message from Virginia Giuffre, who has alleged that she faced sexual assault at the hands of Epstein and his associates.

While Democrats like Harris may still hold Bill Clinton in high regard, it seems clear that many Americans aren’t ready to forgive and forget just yet.
