House committee will investigate claims of human trafficking and other crimes by Biden family

Republicans picked up a narrow majority in the House of Representatives following this month’s midterm elections, which gives them control over the chamber’s committees.

One of them is the House Oversight Committee, and the man who is expected to lead it says the body will conduct a thorough investigation into President Joe Biden.

Report details a long list of criminal allegations

Kentucky Rep. James Comer currently serves as the committee’s ranking Republican member. During a press conference this week, Comer laid out a long list of allegations against the president and his family.

“We are releasing a report today that details what we’ve uncovered,” the conservative lawmaker told reporters on Thursday.

“We are also sending letters to the Biden administration officials and Biden family associates renewing our requests of voluntary production of documents relevant to this investigation,” Comer pledged.

He explained, “This is an investigation of Joe Biden, the President of the United States, and why he lied to the American people about his knowledge and participation in his family’s international business schemes.”

“National security interests require the committee conduct an investigation, and we will pursue all avenues. Avenues that have long been ignored,” Comer continued.

Alleged crimes include human trafficking

“Committee Republicans have uncovered evidence of federal crimes committed by and to the benefit of members of the President’s family,” the congressman went on to add.

Cormer then went on to list a range of offenses, including “conspiracy of Defrauding the United States, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, violation of the Foreign Agent’s Registration Act, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Violations of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, tax evasion, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.”

“In the 118th Congress this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a President who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence,” Cormer stressed as he drew to a close.

“I want to be clear, this is an investigation of Joe Biden and that’s where this committee will focus in this next congress,” Comer concluded.
