Hunter Biden investigation ‘gaining steam;’ CNN says ‘realistic chance’ of indictment

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig said on Wednesday that it is becoming more likely that Hunter Biden will be indicted over his foreign business dealings after observing some of the investigation, according to The Hill.

“This is a very real, very substantial investigation of potentially serious federal crimes,” Honig said. “We are seeing federal prosecutors in Delaware do exactly what you would expect to see federal prosecutors do in this situation.”

Biden has been under federal investigation since 2019, but Honig said the investigation appears to be “gaining steam.”

Former President Donald Trump has been pointing at Hunter Biden’s overseas business dealings as corrupt since the presidential campaign in 2020, with most media sources dismissing the stories as farfetched or “Russian disinformation.”

Evidence ignored

Evidence that Hunter (and maybe his father) were getting payouts from China and Ukraine was found on his laptop that was left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019 and turned over to the FBI by the shop owner.

Stories about the laptop surfaced in October 2020 but were suppressed by social media outlets and ignored by most mainstream news outlets to avoid hurting Joe Biden’s chances of being elected president.

A poll was taken in the months after the election showed that Trump would have been re-elected if the story were allowed to be widely disseminated before the election–the strongest evidence we have of election tampering.

Last week, though, The Washington Post published a 3,000-word piece confirming some of Hunter’s business dealings in China.

Impact on White House

The Justice Department seems to be focusing on whether illegal lobbying resulted from Hunter’s seat on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, for which he was at one time paid $50,000 a month plus other perks.

“There is a realistic chance this could result in federal charges,” Honig said. “Of course, then we’d be in unprecedented political territory — not legal territory but a situation of having potentially the Department of Justice prosecuting and trying to imprison the son of the president.”

Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters predicted last week that if Hunter Biden is indicted, his father will pardon him, but that it will cost the president his chance to run for re-election.

It honestly seems unrealistic that President Joe Biden would have the mental acuity to run for president again in 2024 anyway, so this could be the perfect chance to get Hunter out of a jam and get Biden out of office in a perfect win-win for Democrats.
