Joe Biden has long insisted that he has kept his career in politics separate from his family life, but evidence continues to come out that suggests he engaged in brazen influence peddling — from the very halls of the White House.
A former business partner of Joe’s son Hunter, Eric Schwerin, visited the Obama White House another eight times more than previously reported, according to Fox News.
Eight more visits
Schwerin was the president of Rosemont Seneca Partners, an investment fund co-founded by Hunter. In 2016 alone, he had eight visits at the Obama White House, Fox reported.
His contacts included longtime Biden allies, some of whom are currently serving in the Biden administration. Schwerin met twice with Steve Ricchetti, a current Biden adviser who was serving as then-vice president Biden’s chief of staff.
Schwerin also met three times with Anne Marie Person, who incidentally worked at Rosemont until joining Joe’s staff in 2014. There were two more meetings with Biden counselor John McGrail, and a meeting with Kaitlyn Demers, who now works as an adviser to Biden and his chief of staff, Ron Klain.
Before Fox’s report, the New York Post had reported that Schwerin had 19 White House meetings beginning in 2009, including a private audience with then-vice president Joe Biden in 2010. Hmm.
This means that in total, Schwerin visited the White House 27 times during Obama’s two terms. That’s an unusual level of access, to say the least.
Biden pleads ignorance
Still, Biden’s loyal spin master, Jen Psaki, preposterously claimed Wednesday that Biden has never discussed business with Hunter. Right.
“Again, nothing has changed since what I said yesterday. The president does not get involved in the business dealings of his son,” she said.
It would have been good for this scandal to have been addressed while Biden was running for president. But when the New York Post exposed the details of Joe’s influence peddling in October 2020, the outlet’s reporting was censored and dismissed, without a shred of evidence, as “Russian disinformation.”
Mainstream newspapers have only recently admitted that the story is legitimate. Now, Americans are stuck with a faltering, cognitively unfit president whose seedy past is only now being — reluctantly — reported by the press.
Call this system what you want — it isn’t “democracy.”
