According to the New York Post, Eric Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s closest business partner, met with then-Vice President Joe Biden in the West Wing of the White House and visited the Obama White House 19 times, raising even more questions about the assertion by the president that he never had any contact with his son’s business partners.
Schwerin met with Vice President Biden in the West Wing on Nov. 17, 2010, when Schwerin was still president of the later-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners.
Some of Schwerin’s other meetings with close aides to Jill and Joe Biden coincided with key moments of various multi-million dollar foreign business deals Hunter Biden made, including with China, according to meeting logs.
Republican lawmakers are continuing to question the new reports.
”Not everyone gets to meet the Vice President of the United States in the White House. The press should be asking why Hunter Biden’s business associates — like Eric Schwerin — had that privilege and were given access to the Obama White House,” said Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI). “This is additional evidence that Joe Biden lied when he said he never discussed Hunter’s foreign business dealings. It’s well past time for the corporate media to demand the truth from Joe Biden. The corruption of Biden Inc. must be exposed.”
Schwerin had the most access of any of Hunter Biden’s business partners to his finances, the Post said.
Emails on Hunter Biden’s laptop show that he was involved in Hunter’s personal tax filings and discussed his financial future with him.
Schwerin also met with Vice President Biden’s assistant for intergovernmental affairs and public liaison Evan Ryan in 2009; other emails from the Hunter Biden laptop show that Ryan was a go-between for Hunter Biden and his associates while he worked in the VP’s office.
The plot thickens
Ryan is now married to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and she was appointed as White House Cabinet Secretary in January 2021.
Schwerin attended holiday parties and an inaugural reception in 2013 as some of his frequent visits to the Naval Observatory where the vice president’s residence is located.
Republicans continue to ask questions about possible corruption and demand investigations, but these are unlikely to occur as long as Democrats hold all the power in Washington.
“It’s increasingly obvious that Hunter Biden’s business revolved around providing access to his father and the highest levers of power. It reeks of pay-to-play. The clear solution is a Special Counsel investigation to fairly investigate the disturbing allegations of Biden family corruption,” Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) told the Post.
