This utterly destroys the Democrats’ narrative that the transportation of illegal immigrants from Republican-led states to Democrat-led states is “cruel,” “immoral,” or even “racist.”
According to the New York Post, some of the migrants that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) just flew to Martha’s Vineyard have actually thanked DeSantis for doing so.
In recent months, most news reports on this topic focused on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) decision to voluntarily bus illegal immigrants from Texas to Democrat-run parts of the country, including New York City, Chicago, and D.C.
Last week, on Wednesday, DeSantis joined in by flying some 50 illegal immigrants from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard, a well-known gathering spot for progressives, including former President Barack Obama.
The response from Democrats was one of outrage. Massachusetts state Sen. Julian Cyr (D) called it “a fundamentally racist tactic,” while U.S. Sens. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called it “cruel.”
It turns out, though, that the migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard don’t feel this way.
“We are all well”
The Post managed to talk to some of the migrants whom DeSantis has flown to Martha’s Vineyard. The outlet quotes 27-year-old Eliud Alguilar from Venezuela.
“The life there is good,” Alguilar said. “They treat us well, they provided us with food and medical assistance. We are all well.”
Rachel Self, an immigration lawyer, told the Post a similar story.
“It is a little bit remote,” she said. “But if they want to walk to the gate they can Uber anywhere they want to. They have been given walking around money. They’re resting, catching their breath, and meeting with lawyers. They are welcome to stay there as long as they need to.”
This is not the first report of its kind. Other reports have indicated that the migrants whom Abbott has bused are also happy about the situation.
The only ones who don’t seem to be happy about the situation, in fact, are the Democrats, which suggests that Abbott and DeSantis’s plan is working out perfectly. Non-border state Democrats are getting a real taste of the southern border crisis and they don’t like it, which tells you everything you need to know about their open-border agenda.
