Donald Trump made his long-awaited return to social media on Thursday with a post on his very own social media platform, TRUTH.
“I’m back! #COVFEFE” Trump posted, according to Fox.
Trump returns to social media
The post, or “truth,” featured an image of Trump standing in front of his Mar-A-Lago mansion. The caption referenced one of his most famous tweets, in which he simply wrote, “despite the constant negative press covfefe.”
Trump’s re-emergence came days after Elon Musk bought Twitter, raising speculation that Trump may finally come back to Twitter. The 45th president promptly dismissed the possibility.
“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”
In the most chilling and high-profile example of Big Tech censoring conservatives, Twitter and other major social media pulled the plug on Trump, then a sitting president, after the Capitol “insurrection” last year.
Despite the digital blackout, Trump continues to cast a large shadow over American politics, driving fears on the left that he could return to power.
Democrats are said to be terrified by the scenario of Trump getting back on Twitter, which would almost certainly lift his 2024 prospects. But Trump, whose outlandish tweets were a constant source of amusement and controversy, said that Twitter has become “boring” since he left.
“It became boring because there was no interaction,” Trump said, describing the effect of Twitter’s aggressive censorship. “The interaction on TRUTH has been amazing.”
While it remains to be seen if TRUTH will become a serious long-term competitor to Twitter, Trump’s app has overtaken Twitter in Apple’s app store.
Trump said that competition with Musk “is good,” adding, “We want liberty and justice and fairness in our country, and the more we can have open, the better…but no, I don’t view that as a competition for what I am doing.”
Meanwhile, the Biden regime is desperately doubling down on Stalinist censorship as Biden continues to crash in the polls — setting up a “disinformation governance board.” One thing is clear: the left remains deeply afraid of Donald Trump. Could this be the beginning of a historic comeback?
