Ever since he assumed vast power over the lives of Americans last year, Dr. Anthony Fauci has become comfortable with issuing blanket edicts to his millions of subjects.
In his latest decree, Fauci is warning that Americans must get vaccinated for COVID-19 if they want to have normal lives — and claiming they will “inevitably” require booster shots, too.
Fauci: Vaccine boosters “inevitable”
In his usual tone of prevarication combined with imperious finality, Fauci conceded Thursday that the vaccine does not provide “indefinite” protection and said that while boosters are not imminent, Americans will “inevitably” need to take them, as The Hill reported.
Hedging, the government scientist said, “No vaccine, at least not within this category, is going to have an indefinite amount of protection.”
Fauci said that, for now, boosters are only being recommended for immunocompromised people. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized boosters for those people on Friday.
While the matter is being studied, Fauci predicted that “inevitably” everyone will need to get boosters regardless of what the data shows. If the vaccines are found to be losing their effectiveness, “that’s when you’re going to be hearing about the implementation of boosters,” he claimed, according to The Hill.
“Inevitably, there will be a time when we’ll have to give boosts,” the doctor added. “What we’re doing, literally, on a weekly and monthly basis is following cohorts of patients to determine if, when, and whom should get it.”
“A dystopian world”
Pfizer and Moderna, two of three major companies providing vaccines in the U.S., have already said that booster shots will be necessary for their customers, and it appears that Fauci is on the same page.
According to reports, the companies stand to make billons of dollars from the Fauci-sanctioned boosters, a coveted position to be in as Americans are increasingly told by corporate and government leaders that they are not allowed to refuse the vaccine.
Fauci has said that once the FDA approves the vaccine fully, a “flood” of mandates will make life for unvaccinated people extremely difficult. Many colleges and workplaces are already making the vaccine mandatory.
“They can say: ‘If you want to come to this college or this university, you’ve got to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this plant, you have to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this enterprise, you’ve got to get vaccinated. If you want to work in this hospital, you’ve got to get vaccinated,'” Fauci remarked last week, according to USA Today.
In an ironic moment, he added, “This is a dystopian world we’re living in.”
