Iranian general threatens revenge on America over the killing of Soleimani

Iran just warned America that revenge will be coming for the death of former Revolutionary Guard Corps leader Qassem Soleimani.

What’s more is that Iran said that the revenge would come from “within” the United States.

The latest threat

The man who made the revenge threat is Soleimani’s successor, Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani, the new head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. Ghaani made the threat during a speech that he gave marking the second anniversary of, in his words, Soleimani’s “martyrdom.”

“We will get revenge that you will not forget for the rest of your life,” Ghanni said. “All of the criminals who are on the scene, from the criminal US president to all of those behind the crime of the assassination of Soleimani, are under our magnifying glass.”

Ghaani continued:

We will prepare ground for the hard revenge against the US from within their homes, as we do not need to be present as supervisors everywhere, wherever is necessary we take revenge against Americans by the help of people on their side and within their own homes without our presence.

Ghaani went on to urge America to “deal” with all those individuals who were involved in Soleimani’s “assassination” on its own before the “children of the Resistance Front” are forced to do so.

“This revenge has begun,” Ghaani said. “Americans will be uprooted from the region.”

Background

It was on January 3rd, 2020, that then-President Donald Trump ordered a U.S. drone strike that resulted in Soleimani’s death. The strike took place in Baghdad, Iraq, after an Iranian-backed group launched an attack on the U.S. Embassy there.

Since then, Iran has been vowing revenge on America, especially those involved in the drone strike, including Trump and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Iran, this past week, also added more Americans to its Counter-Terrorism Designation as a result of their “participation in decision-making, organizing, financing and carrying out the terrorist act against General Soleimani and his company.”

In related news . . .

While all this is going on, the Biden administration has been working to get Iran to reenter into former President Barack Obama’s Iranian Nuclear Deal. The Biden administration maintains that this is the best way to prevent the country from obtaining nuclear weapons, while critics argue that it has already been proven that this deal doesn’t work.

Iran has been refusing to comply leading the Biden administration to threaten “additional measures” if it continues down the path toward nuclear weapons.
