‘It looks like lymphoma’: Fox’s Dan Bongino undergoes surgery to remove tumor in his neck

Fans of Dan Bongino received some unfortunate news about his health on Wednesday.

The Fox News contributor announced that he may have cancer after undergoing surgery to remove a large tumor from his neck, the Washington Examiner reported.

“It’s a tumor”

Bongino first revealed to his audience in September that radiologists discovered a tumor in his neck. “It’s scary,” he said at the time.

“It’s a tumor, but there’s a strong likelihood that it is not cancerous,” he added, according to the Washington Examiner. “We don’t know what it is. It’s in a very weird spot in my neck near my carotid artery, near vocal cords and things, and it is big. It’s 7 centimeters.”

The pundit’s followers have been concerned ever since as he awaited a biopsy result and surgery.

In a tweet Wednesday, Bongino said that he had the tumor completely removed that day and thanked his supporters before breaking the bad news, as the Examiner reported.

“Stay strong”

Bongino, a former cop and Secret Service agent, previously said that he thought the tumor was a lipoma, which is a kind of usually harmless fatty growth that he has gotten before.

“I thought it was from grappling — I had gotten choked out a couple of times, I didn’t think any of it. So I went to get an MRI thinking it was a lipoma, and when I rolled out of the machine, there is nothing worse than having a radiologist look at ya, and I said, ‘It’s a lipoma, right?’ And he said, ‘No, it is not a lipoma,'” he told Fox and Friends in September.

The latest news prompted a fresh outpouring of support for the Fox News fixture from followers and colleagues.

“Praying for you Dan,” Fox contributor Tammy Bruce tweeted, according to the Washington Examiner. “You’re in the best country in the world with the best medical treatment in human history. Stay strong.”

We’re sending our prayers to Bongino, as well.
