A Texas Republican whose district includes Del Rio, where thousands of Haitian migrants have been coming across the border illegally, is calling out President Joe Biden’s top immigration officer over the administration’s coverup of the invasion.
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) denounced Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for pushing “bulls***” that the crisis is under control.
“You can’t bulls***” me
Recounting a conference call, Gonzales said that Mayorkas, Biden’s open borders-loving Homeland Security chief, told him the border was under control.
“No, don’t tell me, ‘Everything’s under control.’ It’s not under control. Because, like, I know it’s not under control. You can bulls*** somebody else, but you can’t bulls*** me,” Gonzales said, according to the Washington Examiner.
“It was kind of like, dismissive a little bit, and that’s a problem, especially when you’re talking about national security,” he added. “Like, there are no second chances. You have to get it right every single time, or it’s game over.”
The Biden administration has long pursued its reckless open borders agenda behind a veil of secrecy, lies, and deflection, and there appears to be no limit to how absurd things can get. This week, Mayorkas doubled down on his long-standing pretense that the southern border is sealed off, telling Congress that the border is “no less secure” now than it was under former President Donald Trump, as the Examiner reported.
In fact, more than 1 million migrants have been drawn to the border this year by Biden’s soft rhetoric and policies, and the crisis in Del Rio has not brought any interruption to the clown show.
Where have migrants gone?
Biden and Mayorkas have continued to show how unserious they are by retaliating against Border Patrol agents this week for doing their jobs. The agents became the administration’s scapegoats over false claims that they used “whips” while on horseback to deter migrants in Del Rio.
The crisis at the border has presented RINOs such as Gonzales, one of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump, and Sen. Lindsey Graham-nesty (R-SC) with opportunities to sound tough. Conservatives should not be fooled, but still, a broken clock is right twice a day.
Even now, Mayorkas is refusing to say how many migrants have entered the country this year on Biden’s watch.
On Friday, the ever-slippery Mayorkas sought to spin disaster into a victory, as he claimed the Haitian camp had finally been cleared out. “As of this morning, there are no longer any migrants in the camp underneath the Del Rio International Bridge,” he said, according to The Hill.
Yes, but where have the migrants gone? It turns out that just 2,000 were deported to Haiti. Thousands have reportedly been released into the country already, and some 12,400 overall have immigration cases that will, in all likelihood, end with them staying in the country.
