After weeks of waiting, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has finally agreed to send articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate for trial, according to Politico.
But while some praised the speaker’s strategy of delay, Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro has a far less complimentary take on the situation, something she made clear on Saturday’s installment of Justice with Judge Jeanine.
Pirro: Pelosi’s animosity is her undoing
“The public humiliation of Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat caucus of sycophants who dare not oppose her is actually an embarrassment to watch,” Pirro began.
She went on: “Her impeachment of the 45th president of the United States is born not of truth, facts or evidence, but rather of a historic, vitriolic hatred usually reserved for an enemy of the state.”
According to Pirro, it is Pelosi’s “animosity, frenetic, irrational and baseless actions against this president that will ultimately hoist her on her own petard.”
“And might I add, no one deserves it more,” the former jurist from New York declared.
She reminded viewers of the House speaker: “She rushed the vote because of the urgency involved. We cannot wait. We’ve got to stop him. The president is going to do it again. And the sky is falling, too. And yet there was no case to send to the Senate.”
“Like a child caught in a lie”
The fiery primetime host later said Pelosi is “like a child caught in a lie” who “dithered for weeks hoping something, anything might happen to make the president look bad. But every day he kept on working and winning. So finally she explained her reason for procrastinating. She wanted to ensure a fair trial in the Senate,” Pirro said.
She added: “She was so caught up in her own image as the imperious Queen Nancy, that she, of the lower House, imagined herself the doyenne of the upper house, the Senate chamber of which she has never been, nor will she ever be a member.
“It’s never been about truth or justice for these radicals,” Pirro concluded, arguing instead that “House Democrats simply want to take out the most successful president Americans have put in the Oval [Office].”
One person for whom Pirro’s comments clearly resonated was President Donald Trump himself, who tweeted out a video of her monologue along with words of praise.
“I hope the House and Senate Democrats, in particular watch this,” the president said. “It is a classic. Thank you to Judge Jeanine Pirro!”
