Jill Biden chides Tennessee crowd over low vaccination rates

The illustrious Dr. Jill Biden was booed by a crowd in Nashville after she playfully chided Tennesseans for their reluctance to get the coronavirus vaccine.

The first lady stopped by a pop-up vaccination clinic, where she was joined by country artist Brad Paisley to promote the shot on a tour of southern states, Breitbart reported.

“This state still has mmm, a little bit of a way to go,” she said, according to Breitbart. “Only 3 in 10 Tennesseans are vaccinated.”

“You’re booing yourselves!”

The scolding prompted boos, although it appears the vaccinated audience of Biden supporters was actually thumbing their noses at unseen Trump supporters and others who have refused the shot. “Well, you’re booing yourselves,” the first lady responded, according to Breitbart.

She “repeatedly told the crowd the vaccines are safe, effective, and free” and “they cheered in response,” the Tennessean reported, so it appears she was indeed preaching to the choir.

Only 10 people were at the Ole Smoky Distillery in Nashville when Biden showed up, according to the Tennessean, and despite her admonishments, few visitors got vaccinated.

Paisley also dutifully shilled the official White House narrative, telling the audience to avoid “disinformation” that may encourage people to think twice, according to Breitbart.

White House falls short of goal

Although young people are said to face lesser risk from COVID-19 itself, the Biden administration has dialed up fearmongering over variants of the virus as it seeks to overcome a slowdown in its vaccination campaign.

The White House acknowledged this week that it will miss President Joe Biden’s goal of seeing 70% of Americans vaccinated by July 4.

“The reality is, many younger Americans have felt like COVID-19 is not something that impacts them and have been less eager to get the shot,” Jeffrey Zients, who is leading the Biden administration’s coronavirus response team, told NBC News.

Despite concerns from critics, especially after the federal government acknowledged a link between the shot and a rare heart condition, particularly in young men, the administration is continuing to peddle the shots. Jill Biden was joined by the cultural icon Dr. Anthony Fauci in Florida on Thursday, as the president stopped in North Carolina to push the vaccine, as well.

“Folks, let’s really let this be the summer of joy and freedom,” Joe Biden declared, according to local ABC affiliate WTVD. “Let it really happen. Let’s celebrate the Fourth of July with the independence from the virus.”
