Many Americans have been appalled by the callous indifference of the Biden administration and the mainstream media to the victims of the gruesome Christmas parade attack in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Three weeks after the fact, and with the story no longer receiving coverage in the media, the White House is sending Jill Biden and second gentleman Douglas Emhoff to make a perfunctory gesture of sympathy, Fox News reports.
The suspect, Darrell Brooks, killed six people, including a little boy, and injured more than 60 when he rammed his car into a crowd of children, “Dancing Grannies,” and others celebrating the Christmas holiday.
Brooks, who is Black, had shared anti-white sentiments on social media, leaving many on the left — including the president, apparently — eager to move on from the massacre.
The media trivialized the attack, which the Washington Post infamously claimed was “caused by an SUV,” and before long it dropped out of the headlines.
For his part, Biden failed to visit Waukesha after the attack, only to travel to Nantucket to enjoy Thanksgiving at the home of a private equity billionaire. At the time, press secretary Jen Psaki said that having Biden go to Waukesha would take up resources.
Biden did make a cautious statement, however, in which he urged Americans not to rush to any conclusions about the attack, which many speculate was racially motivated.
They don’t care
By contrast, as the New York Post noted, Biden did not hesitate to label Kyle Rittenhouse a “white supremacist” during the summer of 2020, and after Rittenhouse was acquitted, Biden said he was “angry and concerned.”
Many speculate that Brooks was angry about the Rittenhouse verdict, which may explain Biden’s lack of interest in the Waukesha attack.
Of course, Biden didn’t hesitate to visit Wisconsin as a presidential candidate to pick at the scab of racial grievance and meet with the family of Jacob Blake, a Black man who was paralyzed after getting into an armed altercation with police in Kenosha.
The so-called “consoler in chief” also didn’t wait to politicize the devastating tornadoes that killed nearly 100 people in the Midwest this weekend by making the tragedy about climate change.
Brooks is a violent career criminal who had been out on bail after running over the mother of his child with his car. The progressive prosecutor, who once said that bail reform would “guarantee” innocent people getting killed, acknowledged that bail was set too low.
