Joe Biden confirms Hunter committed gun crime that could get him 10 years

During a CNN interview with Jake Tapper on Tuesday, President Joe Biden appeared to confirm that his son Hunter Biden committed a crime by lying on his application to purchase a firearm in 2018.

Biden responded to a question about reporting that prosecutors may have enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden with tax evasion and the false statement on the gun application by stating first that he was proud of his son for overcoming an addiction.

“Well, first of all, I’m proud of my son. This is a kid, who got — not a kid, he’s a grown man. And he got hooked on, like many families have had happened, hooked on drugs,” the president said.

“He’s overcome that. He’s established a new life. He is, I’m confident that he is — what he says, and does, are consistent with what happens. And, for example, he wrote a book about his problems, and was straightforward about it. I’m proud of him,” he continued.

The admission

Biden said he didn’t know about what Hunter Biden had done with the gun application, but seemed to admit that it happened.

“It turns out that when he made application, to purchase a gun, what happened was he said — I guess, you get asked — I don’t guess. You get asked the question, ‘Are you on drugs? You use drugs?’ He said, ‘No.’ And he wrote about saying ‘No,’ in his book,” Biden said.

Maybe Joe Biden is unaware that there is evidence from Hunter’s laptop that proves he was using drugs at the time of the gun application.

It could be that he thinks Hunter was sober at the time and didn’t lie.

What no one is saying

There’s another explanation for why the media and others seem to be embracing the idea that Hunter will be prosecuted for the gun application and tax evasion.

Those crimes don’t implicate his father or suggest Joe Biden’s involvement in any way.

Prosecutors seem to be ignoring more serious crimes Hunter may have committed, including influence peddling with Ukraine and China that may have involved the then-vice president, his father.

If they can just get Hunter out of the way on these lesser charges, they may figure, they could keep Joe Biden’s nose clean and avoid his entanglement.
